Yes, I think you're right. Just.

[Knowing she'd been married to a woman once was one thing, but finding herself attracted to a woman makes it all feel so much more real. And now that she's flooded with all these feelings about Korra, it makes it hard to feel like what she'd had with Kristoff was genuine.]

Part of me wonders if I didn't just love him because he happened to be there. After Hans...Kristoff just sort of seemed like the reasonable option, I think.

[Elsa tilts her head a little as she listens to Anna speak, and it makes her wonder... is that what her feelings for Lup were? Was it just her reacting to the first affection of that sort directed her way that made her fall so fast for the other woman? It doesn't make those feelings any less real or valid, but... it's an interesting thought to have.]

I don't have the same sorts of experiences with love that you do, but I think... perhaps it was a bit of that, and a bit of genuine affection. Your feelings were real, but maybe you just hadn't grasped just what level of affection it was.

[Anna spins mid-stride, smacking her palm on her forehead. Dramatic as always.]

After the whole Hans thing I guess I was so eager to get over it I kinda...leapt to the next logical conclusion. And, hel, I love him. I totally do. Just sort of more in a...brother way.

[Oof. That's never fun to hear. The inevitable conversation is going to be difficult.]

[Elsa laughs a little. Even in the grips of romantic tension, Anna's still just so... lively. Gods, she'll never get tired of watching her sister's antics.]

I... kind of understand how you feel. [Not the brother thing, but...] When the first sparks for my feelings for Cassandra started, I was a little worried it was just... my heart trying to force itself to move on from Lup. It was complicated, to feel like the target is just shifting, not disappearing.

[And as the two of them both know, just because the gates were open, it didn't magically take all their trauma away. It took time - three years, in some cases - to work through the problems that their isolation caused. It's no wonder Anna might've felt like she should just settle down with the first actual nice man who helped her.]

Kristoff is a good man. A kind, accepting man; I think as long as you're honest with him, he'll be okay. [The smile on Elsa's face shifts, to something a bit more fond.] After all, when he first approached me for my blessing, he said that all he wants is for you to be happy.

[Normally, Anna might take a moment to needle her sister about Lup; she misses the Taaco twins terribly, but she's still sort of delighted that the whole Lup thing even happened. But at the moment, she's a little too preoccupied by her own inner turmoil to crack a joke. Or maybe that's just growth?

Instead, she reaches out and squeezes her sister's hand, briefly.]

I think you're right. Also, can we just agree that the chemistry between him and Ryder was insane?

[There's a pause. Silence. Then Elsa bursts out into a snorting giggle of laughter.]

Anna! Wow! Just how long have you been thinking that about your husband?!

[She tries to sound scandalized, but she's just. Laughing too much. It's so different than how Elsa used to be, before the coronation; there's no restraint at all in how she laughs, at the way her smile stretches full and her eyes crinkle with mirth. Just.... happiness. Pure and unfiltered.]

Ho ho ho! Your secret Santa gift recipient for this year is PRIMOGENITOR on the network.

His name is Fabius Bile. I wish I was kidding about either of those names, but I'm not. I'm entrusting you with the crucial mission of giving him something that will cheer up a sour old man who looks like he's always sucking on a lemon. Julenissen is counting on you!

To Korra: This one is delivered in-person: A simple necklace consisting of a leather cord strung with a single, shimmering green dragon scale. The cord is long enough to be able to wear as either a necklace or a wrap bracelet. Accompanying this is a small, potted sweet sarsaparilla plant (Smilax glyciphylla).

To Elsa: A cloth-wrapped bundle of three homemade bath bombs, each with a different scent: lavender, coconut, and vanilla-amber. In addition, Anna has included a silk pillowcase with little hand-embroidered crocus flowers along the edge of the opening. The note attached reads simply: Sweet dreams for my sweet sister ♡ -A

To Cassandra: A pair of super-soft, supple black leather gloves, fingerless to let Cass’s claws go unimpeded. Hand-embroidered with an ornate C on each wrist. Included with the gloves is a red silk cravat and an antique ebony brooch, just because Anna thinks they’ll look great with Cass’s vampire look.

To Maya: A big basket full of a dozen jumbo muffins. Each one is individually-wrapped and labeled with its flavor: two of each blueberry, double chocolate chip, lemon poppyseed, honey vanilla bergamot, cherry almond, and cranberry orange.

[Anna's laughing, too, peals of laughter chiming in alongside her sister's.]

Look, I can't help it! Did you see the two of them together, I mean, come on.

[It's...so nice. To be able to just laugh with her sister. Forget about Ryslig nonsense, just for a minute. Overhead, the trees whisper their own leafy laughter. The two nymphs being in a good mood is infectious, it seems.]

[ Season's greetings -- a Christmas present has arrived at the door!

It is a pea coat in the latest winter fashion. There are reindeer earmuffs included! Fuzzy! ]

[A box is left on Anna's doorstep sometime on Christmas Eve. When she opens it she'll find a Yule Goat sitting on top of a container of warm Risengrynsgrøt, and a tin of Krumkaker decorated with a white and red Julekurver.

Blame Hawkeye. He said she was Nordic.]

[It's like they're caught in their own little world, among the presence of countless trees and plants. Some might find it a bit eerie, but to Elsa, it's... comfortable. They're not being watched, but guarded. Protected against the outside world, if just for a little while.]

To be fair, I was rather... um. Busy, talking. Elsewhere. [Look cut her a break there was a pretty girl who was enamored with her magic talking to her.] But from what I did see, they befriended each other surprisingly fast! I'm glad Kristoff has a friend who can really understand his whole...

[She waves her hands vaguely.]

Reindeer thing.

[Hawkeye was right, darn him, and the Handler's gift choices are, fortunately, spot-on. Maybe it's best that she dropped the box and dipped; Anna sits outside the castle doors going through its contents one by one, and by the time she's finished there are tears streaming down her face. All of her favorite things from home...

And not a scrap of a note or a shred of evidence as to who left it.

Anna wipes the tears from her scaley cheeks and then takes everything inside to share with her sister.]

[Anna's a bit baffled by this one. Not just because it's too small for her in her current gargoyle form—it'll just have to wait for when she's a nymph, and that's perfectly fine! But there's no note, so she has to wrack her brains for awhile.

Who does she know that's fashionable and thoughtful, but also maybe wouldn't want anyone thinking he's been thoughtful?

[She might have been against the idea of doing Secret Santa, but that doesn't mean she won't do it right. It pays to know about cultures all over Earth.

Uh-huh. I seem to remember. [Anna can't help but poke a little fun at her sister, but she doesn't linger on it. After all, it seems unfair to Cass, even if neither her or Elsa seem to have remembered any of Ryslig at all during the time they were home.

She lets out a very unladylike snort.]

Yeah, the reindeer thing. It's, y'know, good to have friends with similar hobbies, if nothing else!

[ Look, just because he liked giving presents didn't mean he needed to take credit for them! After all, then he might ruin his cool guy image. ]

just knock :) I’ll come meet you at the front door. Elsa put some kind of magic on the castle to keep out anyone we don’t want coming in but you’re definitely not that!

[And as promised, in about an hour, Korra is knocking at the front door and hoping that whatever magic guards the castle recognizes her as friend and not foe. It's rare she's out and about during the day, but she hadn't wanted to wait to bring Anna the little surprise she has. So it's a much less furry and large Korra that's at the door, in a light jacket and with her shaggy white hair pulled back and away from her face with a pair of narrow braids on either side.]

[Korra might notice, as she approaches the bridge that spans the moat that surrounds the half of Solsikke Castle that isn't jutting out of the lake itself, that the perfectly-manicured flowerbeds with their brightly-colored winter blooms seem to...perk up, almost, as she passes, each flower bending toward her as if in greeting. What she might not realize is that they're talking amongst themselves, warning the two nymphs that inhabit the castle of an approaching visitor....which means that the moment the door knocker strikes its plate, one of the huge castle doors is swinging open with Anna right behind it.

She grins brightly at the sight of her girlfriend and immediately pulls her in for a kiss.]

Hi, beautiful!

Hey!

[Korra barely notices the flowers as she approaches, other than to note that they're very pretty and that the whole place looks exactly where she'd imagine Anna to live. She bets there's lots of flowers and plant life inside too.]

[And then she's too distracted by her girlfriend's mouth to think about much of anything else.]

Your castle is awesome!

[Anna gives Korra a long, lingering kiss, and then pulls back with a sparkle in her eye.]

Oh, this old thing? [She giggles, taking Korra by the hand and leading her through the double doors.] Come on in, I'll give you the tour!

[She takes Korra through the entryway of the castle, which opens up into the main sitting area, furnished with several comfortable-looking chairs and couches that are situated near the fireplace. Plush blankets and pillows are scattered for maximum comfort, too. To the left is the doorway that leads into the kitchen and dining area, and in the middle of it all is a massive stone spiral staircase.

Anna stands in the middle of all of this, giving energetic jazzhands.]
