OH GOSH THEY'RE HUGGING okay. Anna returns the hug with a tight, happy squeeze, and pulls back, her vines wiggling excitedly.]

I agree! I'm so glad you messaged me, actually!

[ Mari can't help but peer over Anna's shoulder and watch all of her vines wiggle about. CUTE.

She lets her go and puts her hands on her hips. ]

Were you bored and needed some company?

[Anna steps back and takes a much-needed deep breath after all that squeezing, her leaves rustling atop her head where they've begun to tinge with yellow and orange on the ends. It looks like there's some sort of flowers beginning to bud on top, too...]

A little! Mostly I've been wanting to find something to do in my free time lately.

[ Mari admires all of Anna's flowers and the general makeup of her body. Plant people were proooobably her favorite.

Even the ones with sticky sap spit. ]

You can bug me whenever you need anything. We can get started, c'mon! [ She is eager to lead Anna off to the main courtyard-y area of the castle. ]

Question~ Do your leaves fall off in the Fall or do they just change colors? You don't have to rake up after yourself?

[She follows Mari with a swishing of skirts around her knees; living with and working for Rohan means that she's always well-dressed, and today is no exception.

The question makes her hesitate.]

Um—I'm not sure, actually! I've never been here in the fall before. But I'm hoping they don't fall off. I've already lost all my hair once.

[ She owns a couple of Rohan's pieces herself! They're not fond of each other, but business is business, right? ]

Oh my! That'd be terrible, huh...? [ how do tree people work ]

So, what song did you have prepared?

[Anna doesn't know either she's just winging this whole thing.

She giggles, and nods.]

Pretty terrible, yeah! But, um—I was thinking of singing something French. Would that be okay?

[ They stop their tour in the well-lit yard and Mari hurries her to a spot near a little tea garden. ]

Go for it! I can sing in Italian, Japanese, AND English. It demonstrates well-roundedness.

—oh, wow! You're very well-rounded, in that case!

[Anna can't help but feel a little self-conscious, now, but—! There's nothing for it but to go ahead and sing.

She clears her throat, and launches into a pretty, clear-voiced rendition of au Clair de la Lune.]

[ Quieting down, Mari shuts her eyes and listens to Anna's song-- a familiar classic that she too enjoys very much. She is only listening to her voice, avoiding making her anxious by looking directly at her. She hums at first but then sways along to her voice and draws herself into it in harmony: ]

Au clair de la lun~ On n'y voit qu'un peu~ On chercha la plum~ On chercha du feu...~

[As Mari begins to chime in, Anna's eyes light up—she wasn't expecting the other girl to know the same song! She can't help but notice that their voices sound nice together—sweet and clear.

When the song draws to a close and the last note fades, Anna bounces on her heels a few times.]

Mari, that was incredible! We sounded so good together!!

[ And boy does Mari love Anna's voice. Hers fades off when the other girl's does, lips hopping into a smile. ]

Absolutely~ You're a tiptop singer! So shiny and beautiful!! [ She is elated. ] Even if I don't make an Idol group, I think singing with you for fun would be incredibly fun!

Oh, thank you so much!

[She claps her hands together. She's missed singing!]

I agree! It'll be so nice even just to sing harmony with someone, and especially with someone as nice as you, Mari!

If there's anything you want to improve on, I'm your go-to teacher. Promise.

[ She almost reaches out to shake her hand--

but no forget that she's going in for A Hug. Right to her bosom you go, Anna. ]

It's going to be just like having all my friends back home again. I'm so happy...

[Aaaand she's being hugged again; unlike SOME people, Anna doesn't mind; she lets out a little squeak of surprise and squeezes Mari right back, her face squishing right into Mari's boobs. Help her.]

I hope you and I can be good friends, Mari. I feel like we have a lot in common!

I think we do too. [ She lets up enough to let Anna not completely suffocate, oops. ]

Do you want to hear something I've written? Well, for my trio. I can definitely do it with no accompaniment.

[Anna's eyes get very round and very wide.]

[ OKAY WHICH SONG THOUGH... ]

Hm!! Okay, okay. So since I don't have any music, you'll have to bear with me. The aesthetic is dark and mysterious. Like... Kinda spooky-ish! [ Her fingers make claws at either side of her head. Like, y'know. Rawr.

Alright, alright. Her arms drop to one folding under her chest and the other bringing two fingers to her right eye ala Yohane's silly trademark gesture. ]

♫ Ready~?

[ no one is ever ready but here we go-- ]

♫ I won't wait for love~! ♫ [ The fingers at her face leave it as she thrusts that arm into the air over her head triumphantly. She proceeds to improvise her own dance a little but she is very clearly singing to Anna. ]

♫ Whoa~ Whoa~ Oh, there you are, my dear! I've found you looking so lonely, but is that sincere~?

Whoa~ Whoa~! Your pounding heart skips a beat-- begging to be stolen by me...~ ♫ [ She slips forward and beeends down to tap Anna's nose with her finger before pirouetting on her toes and circling her. ]

♫ You've got fire deep inside, but the ice in my eyes will have it meet its demise~

Watch me now and grasp onto your bud~ding~ de~siii~res...~ ♫

[ A hop, Mari presses her fingers to her own lips: ]

♫ Soooo qui~et~ly... I've got my on every move you're making. And cer~tain~ly~ I value your sen~si~tive mind! ♫ [ Rather than a hop, she jumps this time, knees bent and her heels just about touching her bottom before she lands and virtually the whole ground where they stand shakes. She needs to be dramatic for the bridge.

With her fingers a-fluttering at their tips, her hands gesture at her face with ~mysterious~ intent. ]

♫ I'll lurk silently in the shadows...~ It's so thrilling, it's unbearable...~ I'm the Queen of Chaos and you cannot run away! No, you'll never get awaaaaay~ ♫

[ FINGERPISTOLS ]

♫ MY TARGET~!!

Trap in dice~! Now we're just getting started! Trap in night~! Caught cold in my cage of love! Trap in heart~! You might fear me now, but it's just a game of roulette~ ♫

[ Anna, if you weren't expecting it, Mari's got you by the hand in an attempt to pull and twirl you like a doll. ]

♫ It's our fate and ordinary's boring, so just move on with me...~ I'm gonna be the star; just watch me~

I'm gonna steal your heart and won't set it free 'cuz I won't wait for you: My sweet~ Straw~berry~ The finest temptation, baby~ Berry~ Trapper~ ♫

[ She sweeps the nymph up off of her feet, holding her bridal-style in her arms. ]

♫ Now my newest target is you! ♫

[ Song's over. Wide grin. Sparkly smolder eyes. ]

Tada~~

[Anna gives Mari a reassuring smile.]

I'm sure it'll be amazing even without music!

[Her eyes light up as Mari starts to sing; she's amazing to watch, twirling around and prancing the way she does. The nymph giggles in delight as Mari boops her nose, but she definitely wasn't expecting to be included in the choreography—that pulls another excited shriek out of her, her skirts flying out as she's turned round and round.

And then suddenly, she's not on her feet at all—she's being pulled up into Mari's arms, and now she's just giggling uncontrollably.]

Mari! That was...that was incredible!!

[ Mari's grin spreads wide and bright from ear to ear. ]

Y'think so? Why thank you, Dear Madame! [ Carefully, she manipulates Anna about and sets her back on her feet. ]

And that's only a sample of what I know. I wish I had the music to go with it. It's so hardcore!!

[Anna grins; she doesn't really get the whole 'hardcore' thing. Ibuki tried to explain punk to her once, and it ended up being a whole lot of screeching and not a lot of explaining.]

Well...I don't know about hardcore, but if you need music, I can play some piano!

Piano's good! It's a good place to start.

[ She makes a point to motion at Anna's... Everything. ]

Can you grow any flowers you want or are they seasonal?

[Anna reaches up to touch the chrysanthemum buds in her hair, a little self-consciously.]

They're seasonal, but I can grow just about anything with my nymph magic! Why do you ask?
