Chloe didn't think Anna would, y'know, fixate on. That.

She realizes in her haste she forgot the gear and so when she finds Munchies with it, she actually gasps out loud and has to wrestle it away- Munchies is holding on tight waiting on word from Anna on whether or not Chloe is okay.

It doesn't dawn on him that Chloe is right here.]

Munchies! MUNCHIES LET IT GO!

[As she tries to wrangle it from his grasp, the audio button ends up getting pressed and Anna gets an obligatory Accidental Audio™]

You big giant dummy, I swear I'm gonna pull an uncle vernon- no food for a week!

GIMME THE GEAR! MUNCHIES!

[Anna's halfway to starting to yell Chloe's name when she gets a message on her gear; she frowns, opening the audio, and yelps in alarm when she hears what is clearly her girlfriend squabbling with her own dang pokemon over the gear. Anna hurries back to their campsite, intent on making sure Chloe doesn't follow through on the threat. When the pair of them come into sight, Anna's red-faced from running around.]

Hey! Woah, what the heck is going on???

[Both of them freeze when Anna speaks up. Munchies immediately lets go of the gear, as if he's been caught and scolded by his mother and because Chloe had still been pulling at it, she ends up just. Falling on her ass.]

Ooph!

This is so painfully par for the course with them but somehow that doesn't make it any less embarrassing.]

Heyyyy. [She says from the ground.]

[Well, that happened. Anna's honestly not sure what to make of all of this, and even though her girlfriend is awfully cute where she's sprawled on the ground, it doesn't stop Anna from being a little grumpy, her arms crossed in front of her.]

Chloe, what on Earth? I thought I made you mad, so I ran off after you...

[She looks from Anna to Munchies (who is looking very, very sheepish) and then glances down at the gear to see if she missed something and then-

The glare she shoots Munchies is very intense.]

I wasn't mad! I was- ugh. I was embarrassed, alright? Geez. [She can't even have her one singular weekly human emotion in PEACE can she??]

I mean...he did say you were red in the face. I figured I just...said something wrong.

[She bites her lip, and then reaches down to offer Chloe a hand up to her feet.]

[Chloe heaves a sigh, but she takes Anna's hand and stands up. Before replying to Anna, she reaches for Munchies' ball and aims it at him.]

You and I are gonna have a talk later.

[There he go.

She turns to Anna, brushing herself off lightly and procrastinating on actually responding to her, clearing her throat and coughing a little.]

It's no biggie, I just, uh. So. DTF... uh. I didn't think you were gonna think too hard about it. That's all.

[She watches Munchies get zapped into his ball, giving him a sad little wave, and then turns back to Chloe, worry etched across her face still, even though it seems she didn't commit some huge faux-pas. She laughs nervously, and shrugs.]

Chloe, you can't hit me with some mystery acronym and then not expect me to go crazy trying to figure it out!

That's.. yeah, that's true. My bad.

[It's not that she's like, a prude. She's so far from prude that it's painful. But it's like. Anna's never... Chloe doesn't wanna-

This is a delicate subject, that's what it is. Once she found out before V-day that Anna hasn't ever had sex, Chloe doesn't wanna be the one to push it that direction or make Anna feel like she has to or something.]

[Look. Anna's not an idiot, despite all appearances. She's had a sneaking suspicion it might be a sex thing. After all, it's Chloe, and Chloe is so much more...experienced in that kind of thing than she is. Plus, the way she'd gotten all embarrassed about it was a pretty big clue. So Anna's surprised, but she's not that surprised. Her cheeks turn pink, and she lets out a nervous laugh.]

What, is that all?

[You would think by now that Chloe would know she can just talk to Anna about things. All signs point to that being the case. But given her entire life and just being a rude, socially awkward and obnoxious teenager she's conditioned to just. Feel awkward talking about sex. Even more so because she doesn't wanna fuck this up, she wants to do it right. She wouldn't ever forgive herself if she hurt this pure, wholesome princess she somehow managed to get as a girlfriend.

But considering she heard her fart this morning, she should probably realize she isn't as dainty and wholesome as Chloe perceives her, so. That's on Chloe.]

Yeah, I guess? I- I dunno, I just didn't wanna make things awkward. And yet [she gestures] all this jiggery-fuckery happened, so that's out the window now.

[Anna lets her arms move so she can place a hand on either side of Chloe's hips, drawing a little closer. She can tell that Chloe's feeling awkward as heck about this, and Anna just wants her to know that it's okay. She gets it. She's practically the queen of awkward, after all.]

Hey. It's okay. A little awkward never killed anyone, y'know?

[There's a long, heavy silence, during which Anna formulates what she wants to say next.]

Um...well, anyway. I am.

[Anna is so very good at understanding when Chloe's having a Chloe moment. She's really grateful that Anna never judges her (at least when it counts) and somehow knows how to bring her back to reality when she's being dumb.

Chloe is pretty okay with the silence, Anna's all close and cute and Chloe places her own hands on Anna's sides too, watching the gears turn in the other's head. What's she thinking? What's she gonna say? Is she about to burp?]

Oh. Shit.

[Somehow that's not what she'd been expecting, but it takes away a lot of the awkwardness and fear that she might be pushing Anna in a direction she doesn't want.]

I mean- good shit. Shit in a good way- I mean-

[You know what? Kissing is easier than talking right now, so she's gonna just dip in for a kiss to express that yes she's okay with it and that she's just being Chloe about it.]

[Anna can't help but giggle, because Chloe's reaction is so...Chloe. It's coarse and off-the-cuff and everything she thinks is wonderful about this girl, and it fills her chest with a warm, happy glow.]

Yeah?

[Her answer comes as a kiss, which is just fine by Anna; her lips are soft and pliant against Chloe's, the smile edging around the corners more than obvious even with their mouths pressed together. Anna's arms wind a little closer, pulling Chloe flush against her, relishing the warmth of Chloe's lower back against her palms through her shirt.]

it's her job to be gay about you in her head. She's just. She's so very glad for Anna. It's a slow process but she's slowly starting to realize that like. Things like this? These conversations? They don't have to be embarrassing or awkward. It isn't like- like some people she used to know. Where she never quite knew where she stood with them. Always second guessing herself.

Anna is genuine. She's nice. She's... kind of perfect, honestly. It's always Chloe assuming things and getting worked up and making things sillier than she needs to.

And it's in that moment that she just. Realizes it.]

I love you.

[She only pulls back long enough to say that, pressing back in for another kiss because she's nervous of the response even though she knows it won't be bad. She just.

This is a lot. She's feeling a lot and also Anna's lips are pretty intoxicating, she can't get enough of them and her arms are wrapped around her, pulling Anna against her like she can't get close enough.]
