Sometime that afternoon, during one of those quieter pockets of the day, a familiar-looking werewolf would show up at the bakery. ]

[Anna lights up like, well, a Christmas tree at the sight of that familiar face. The last time she saw him was...well. Less than pleasant, so this is a hell of a relief.]

[She singsongs in his direction, wiping off her flour-covered hands on her apron.] More or less. We've got some specials coming up for New Year's, so we can't exactly slow down anytime soon!

[ He grinned -- an easy expression, one he'd sort of had to remember how to pull off once he'd shown up on Vandare's beaches. ]

You certainly are. [She gives him a sunny grin, leaning on the counter with her chin in her hands. Look, she can't help it that Majima is a good-looking man. What does it hurt if she flirts a little bit?]

Sorta. His birthday's on the 29th of February, and I should probably check a calendar to see if Ryslig's even got leap years.

Either way, it'd be just plain awful if ya only got to celebrate once every four years. Don't ya agree?

[ Now there was just a hint of mischievousness to that smile. ]

Alright, so the target's a minotaur named Tim. He loves cats and cute things, and it's coming up on his 23rd year.

[ Leave it to Majima to make the whole thing sound like a secret mission. Getting a birthday cake, honestly. In his defense, Anna had kind of an infectious enthusiasm? ]

[Anna's eyes light up, a twinkle in those huge green sclera, and she grabs a pad of paper and a pen and starts scribbling furiously.]

Ooh, absolutely! [she gasps—] what if I made the cake look like a sleeping cat? Ooh, what's his favorite flavors???

Sounds perfect. He's real partial to carrot, and -- oh yeah. I got a picture of his cat.

[ Majima pulled out a photo of Jay, a chubby-looking Maine Coon tabby with odd blue and green eyes. ]

A big old furball, name's Jay Catsby. Pretty cute, huh? Met him the other day, although he didn't seem sure what to make of a werewolf.
