[Anna marvels at the Rapidash, but even more so she marvels at how happy and excited Elsa looks. It's so dang nice to see her sister like this, and Anna doesn't think she'll ever stop feeling that way.]
Elsa, that's great! [There's a flash of a stricken expression on her face, but she's happy to move past the awkwardness if Elsa is.]
He's gorgeous! I can't believe it, he's so...majestic!
[It's pretty easy for Elsa to move on from the awkwardness at this point. Funny story: she's gotten really good at letting things go. It's almost like she had a song about it at one point in her life.
Elsa grins at Anna, before reaching down and holding out her hand.]
Come on, let's go for a ride together! Wait until you see how fast he can go!
[Anna has to laugh in surprise at Elsa's next words; she takes her sisters hands and hops nimbly up on the Rapidash's back behind her, her arms winding around Elsa's slim waist.]
[Going off on your own on an extended solo vacation to gather your thoughts and whatnot is nice. But as it tends to happen, sometimes you get introspective. That's where Elsa's at right now. At a little seaside cafe, a book propped up on her knee and a small cup of coffee in hand, staring down at words she isn't fully comprehending because her mind isn't on the book, it's on her sister.
Elsa can't help but think of how far they've come. How just eight months ago, they were new to this world. How scary, how strange it was. But Elsa had managed to get by because she'd had Anna. How it was Anna who encouraged her to try new things, to not be afraid of how different everything was. And now how Elsa can't ever imagine going back to what they had before. How they've found their lives here, by some miracle. It's so strange to think about how far they've come.
But it's also easy to worry that things have changed too much. That they aren't spending enough time together or that they don't talk enough. It's irrational, really, but... she can't help it. Not when she's witnessed so many people losing others they care for. Elsa's tried not to think about it too much, to imagine what she would do if Anna were to...
Days like today, when the only thing to keep her company are her thoughts, Elsa deeply, deeply misses her sister. So she sets the book down on the little table in front of her along with her cup of coffee and reaches for her gear.]
I'm not sure I say it often enough anymore, maybe because I've taken it for granted after all this time, but... I love you! and I miss you. How are you doing today?
[Anna's glad, more than anything, that she and Elsa have been able to find their own way in this place. Both together, and apart. Anna has always been independent, and between wanting to spend time with Chloe, and not wanting to bog Elsa down when she has her own goals in Johto, it suits her just fine the way things have been. Still, it lifts her spirits immensely to get a call from Elsa; she's en route to Ecruteak with Chloe at the moment, and when she answers, it's cross-legged from inside their tent, with the sounds of Chloe swearing faintly at the fire pit outside drifting in. Elsa might also notice that Anna's got her hair braided in one thick plait down the side of her shoulder...an homage to her sister, perhaps?]
Hey, you! I'm so glad to hear from you, geez! I love you and miss you, too, so much...
[Anna laughs, pausing to catch a breath.]
I'm doing great! We're halfway to Ecruteak, I think, and the weather has been so nice. How's your vacation going?
Chloe didn't think Anna would, y'know, fixate on. That.
She realizes in her haste she forgot the gear and so when she finds Munchies with it, she actually gasps out loud and has to wrestle it away- Munchies is holding on tight waiting on word from Anna on whether or not Chloe is okay.
It doesn't dawn on him that Chloe is right here.]
Munchies! MUNCHIES LET IT GO!
[As she tries to wrangle it from his grasp, the audio button ends up getting pressed and Anna gets an obligatory Accidental Audio™]
You big giant dummy, I swear I'm gonna pull an uncle vernon- no food for a week!
[Anna's halfway to starting to yell Chloe's name when she gets a message on her gear; she frowns, opening the audio, and yelps in alarm when she hears what is clearly her girlfriend squabbling with her own dang pokemon over the gear. Anna hurries back to their campsite, intent on making sure Chloe doesn't follow through on the threat. When the pair of them come into sight, Anna's red-faced from running around.]
[Both of them freeze when Anna speaks up. Munchies immediately lets go of the gear, as if he's been caught and scolded by his mother and because Chloe had still been pulling at it, she ends up just. Falling on her ass.]
Ooph!
[This is.
This is so painfully par for the course with them but somehow that doesn't make it any less embarrassing.]
[Well, that happened. Anna's honestly not sure what to make of all of this, and even though her girlfriend is awfully cute where she's sprawled on the ground, it doesn't stop Anna from being a little grumpy, her arms crossed in front of her.]
Chloe, what on Earth? I thought I made you mad, so I ran off after you...
[She watches Munchies get zapped into his ball, giving him a sad little wave, and then turns back to Chloe, worry etched across her face still, even though it seems she didn't commit some huge faux-pas. She laughs nervously, and shrugs.]
Chloe, you can't hit me with some mystery acronym and then not expect me to go crazy trying to figure it out!
[It's not that she's like, a prude. She's so far from prude that it's painful. But it's like. Anna's never... Chloe doesn't wanna-
This is a delicate subject, that's what it is. Once she found out before V-day that Anna hasn't ever had sex, Chloe doesn't wanna be the one to push it that direction or make Anna feel like she has to or something.]
So DTF means... ugh. [In THIS context of all contexts it sounds so vulgar. When has she ever worried about being vulgar?? This is dumb.] Down to fuck. Wham, there it is.
